Found this in the Cretaceous marl in central jersey. There is tumbled volcanic glass all over this area but this one just seemed different and heavier. It's not magnetic and does not make the detector beep. I scored it on the back in two places. In one place it seemed to be black glass pretty much all the way down, but then again it kinda looks like crust ass well. The other score I made looks a little like smeared metal. Probably just volcanic glass. Oh and it does seem to have a few of those rygolymphs.

looks like obsidian. take a flashlight & place the rock on the lens, does the light shine through?

Not magnetic means meteornot..sorry to say. Dosent look like fusion crust either. Nice find to remember the day by.
