Need opinions

[Rich in Texas]

I found this while walking a very rocky creek channel on our ranch on the Edwards Plateau in Texas. Not sure what it is.

Overall size is 2 1/4" high.

possibly calcite. go to library & find Audobans Rocks and Gems. should be able to get an idea there.

Need to do a hardness test.
Yes they look like they could be calcite.

Could also be quartz. Test to see if it reacts with acid, or do a hardness test. Calcite will bubble and fizzle when touched with acid.
