Never seen sediment look like that~ I've picked up similar looking stones in the past. usually they are microfine quartz or chalcedony. The rounded shape is most likely due to the specimen having formed in a vug in the host rock and the host rock having eroded away leaving the harder material. If you take a jewelers loop and look at the patterned side of the piece you will see crystal shapes. Be nice if you could post a magnified view.
*looks at rock* I could have formed in a sedimentary material but I'd be more willing to say it formed in a volcanic material as round vugs occur more commonly in such materials.

I found this rock in the backyard of a late collector it was left as trash. It looked to cool. Any thoughts?? It weighs 101 grams. Thank you

Its always possible it was transported by a glacier if you live in an area known for moraines. Generally only the hardest materials survived glacial transport an have a tendency to look much like river stones. Rocks move in a lot of ways ;)
