Hello!

I found a rock on a beach the other day. It was lying at a depth of about 10-30 cm and it is said that the area I found the rock on was used for sand and gravel mining in the past.

I will post three pictures and hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like that might be a chunk of galena. You can do a scratch test and see if it comes out gray.

I did scratch it and small silver pieces came of and the rock is still silvery. I used a magnet and the pieces got stuck on the magnet.

Could be magnetite if it sticks to a magnet.
