This piece belonged to my grandmother and is quite old. I have had it for around 30 years since she passed away. Something in my memory thinks i was told it was a meteorite but I can't find any that look similar so am doubtful. It is black, very pointed and sharp and when light hits it, it has a rainbow effect. I can't find anything when I look at rock and mineral specimens either. Your help would be greatly appreciated! image.jpg

A better closer picture will help. Its not a meteorite as they do not exhibit crystal formation. It does appear to be a conglomerate of crystals.

Scratched my head on this for a bit. Seems you've found a likely candidate for your research. I don't know any good way to test your guess so I'll say yes ;) It matches images I've dug up.

What you have is Bornite. Great specimen. Images of the mineral below. Happy hunting. image-755442293.jpg image-3470899161.jpg
