Agate?

Found this by the house yesterday. Appears to be an agate to me. Ran it under water and the depth and detail changed dramatically. -Luke

Usually ones first impression of what something could be, might just be the right/correct choice..

Decided to cut it and get the one side smoothed out.

At this point, one could than tumble the stone assuming one has a tumbler.. If you don't have a tumbler I would be willing to rent you one of three that I have.. But it would be best that you have several other stones to place in the mix.
Note: if you've trimmed the stones to thin, it's best not to tumble it see that is appears to have hair line cracks.. Thou if still strong enough., I would cut a shape (clean up the edges) and just polish it up instead of tumbling.
