Petrified Wood Find - Nice Cut

The petrified wood in this area is awesome stuff! I made a rough cut to begin polishing. I found about 10 pieces this size and bigger in a 10'x10' area along the creek bed.

nice piece, hope to see it polished! I'm amazed at the variety of petrified wood - all 50 states are supposed to have some, and they sure are fun to find!!

Looks that you have a good source of materials there. You may want to check and see if there are any laws prohibiting collection. Otherwise have at it. ;)

I have a really nice chunk of petrified wood somewhere around here. I believe it weighs around 10 pounds or more and I bet it would make some nice cabs and slabs. I have other smaller pieces as well that are agatized, not to just find all of them. LOL!!
