Got these at a garage sale in a giant bucket of fossils I bought. The blue one is quite pretty and has gold colored deposits at random locations (they don't show up well in the photo). The second is a rock I have not come across before either. The edge appears a bit sharp...flint?

I am not sure about the first one.. a copper mineral possibly.
Do a streak test - rub against a unglazed piece of porcelain, what colour? Can you scratch it with your finger nail?


The second one looks like chalcedony,

As long as the term Peacock Ore has been mentioned, thought I would throw this tidbit in.

Very very colorful with its reds, greens, yellows and blues when traveling East on I-90, just before getting to Sundance Wyoming.

The first is definitely a copper mineral. Most likely peacock ore as previously stated. The second could also be a form of banded rhyolite. I have several specimens I picked up that appear nearly identical.

I have seen the blue rock before ,
I worked with a guy that had worked in South America at a gold mine and has a very large pice cut to use as a paper weight and is gold ore . At least that's what he passed it off as with very large gold deposits in it .

Thank you for the assistance. I appreciate it. It seems rocks are not so easy to id. I even got some books and none of my rocks I am finding look like the rocks in the books .

That's because the books often show "masterpieces" or rather - specimens. They usually don't show the average example of the mineral.
