Re: Flourescent Rocks
Yes on the round but you'll need to go out in the night with a UV-lamp prefferably with both short- and long wave.
Look here else:

For UV-lamps here:

Here is the direct link to the lamps:

Geologists are gneiss, tuff, and a little wacke.

Re: Flourescent Rocks
Sites are great, ideas are great. I have numerous uv lites even hand held. Now all I have to do is find flourescent rocks. There was a place on that History channel show that you can go and get them yourself for 1.50 a pound or something like that. LOL...Well back to searching and researching.
Thanks

Re: Flourescent Rocks
You can go dig your own!
The TV show "The Best Places to Find Cash & Treasures" had a show about flourescent minerals a while back. It's on the travel channel.
Here's a link with all the info.

Go and buy a battery operated Black light and go looking. You also might want one you can adapt to a car cigarette lighter.
Nighttime isn't best out here, but the scorpions flourese a bright Green. some of them are BIG too.
For the daytime hunt set up a blind or portable dark room in your car, so you aren't bringing home stuff that you don't want to keep.

Probably it is in his home area, some nasty "beasts" are around like the scorpions. Is how I did understand it.

Re: Flourescent Rocks
Thes get as big as 3". pretty easy to find in the daytime and they are painful when they get you. Other than that I can say they are a Centroides type. That's all I know.
If you are going to be in Western Colorado this summer
Give me a PM and I'll set aside some time to catch some.
