Found these in a lake today by accident while metal detecting. Used a penny for size reference. Any ideas? Thanks RJ

Although the image on the dark side, I could see a slight formation resembling that of Sapphire.

Cool! Could be corundum. Looks a little like Apatite too. -Luke

Thanks. Have not a clue, just thought they were unusual looking in my scoop. If they are gemstones I need to find bigger ones.

Probably wrong (and a wet blanket) but if there are cabins/houses on this lake, could they be pebbles from a fish tank? (sorry... I just had to say something since they look just like fish tank pebbles...)

I think they look more like blue bubble gum that use to come in those little draw string pouches. Taking them to a place tomorrow to get them checked out.

Gemologist said diffidently not sapphires. Oh well
