Both are very (crimson) red, not pink, not purple, but red. Red quartz? Although red quartz doesn't seem to be this red, more of an orangey red.

Could be. Don't get to hooked on details/pictures on red quartz, the colours variate a lot.

Yep rose quartz. It can be very red but pink is more common. Your speci is nicely toned. Usually only small amounts of a rosie are as colorful. Good find :thumbsup:
