BruntBear them are really nice. I have got quite a few rocks and many have green crystals in them. If I could get good enough just to know approx. what I have got I would be so happy. Thanks for posting these.
Mostly alluvial deposits. A few, like the first one shown; came from Calcite deposits in a cave.
I recently stumbled across some alluvial deposits here in Tennessee that seem to be producing different colors of Beryl. Mostly light blues & yellow. We are just a few miles from the N.C. border where Beryl mines used to operate. To avoid any confusion; we don't go to gem mines and pay for seeded buckets. We do go to some gem mines to have their cutters facet some of our stones.
No worries. I doubted you were getting any of the "Guaranteed" buckets at the gem mines. Just wondered if you'd found permissions or an abandoned mine to dig on. Calcite? Hrm... a secondary deposit maybe? Good find
Yup, getting permission from private land owners. There are some public access points, but it's pretty limited. The cave that offered up the Calcite deposits was on private property and unfortunately can no longer be accessed. It contained some of the greenest Emeralds yet.
