Unusual polished rock

I started polishing a plain gold/brown colored rock last night appears to be some sort of sandstone? And when I put it on the diamond wheel where I polished turned blue. I light baby blue almost. Any one got any ideas or knowledge? Will post picture if necessary.

Picture would be good. Are you polishing it wet or dry? Some materials like topaz will change color when heated so the friction from a polisher may be altering the material a bit or the blue is from material lodging into the pores of the material.

Polishing with a diamond wheel on jool tool. Polishing it wet, though not really necessary as jool tool is air cooled. Will get some pictures up. Actually, it's really cool looking.

Did the surface of the polishing wheel turn blue or did the surface of the rock turn blue? Just curious.

The rock, wheel impervious to that except for a bit of dust. Will get some pictures.

Thanks for the reply. If your using a diamond wheel on sandstone your probably make glass out of the silica content just from the friction, if it is in fact sandstone,
