Coloration suggests amythest tough it appears rather blue. The termination is that of quartz not sapphire as well as the fracture pattern on the back of the stone. Deep color however. Benitoite has a triangular crystal pattern and the one shown is hexagonal.

I think the blue colouration is due to the light source. :)
