I got a specific gravity of 2.543 on my pale pink crystal. Anyone? My list says maybe tourmaline. IMG_20150411_124636.jpg

Definitely too low for any variation of Tourmaline. I'm leaning towards Rose Quartz. Quartz varieties will often show up in the 2.52-2.60 on a 1/10th gram scale. How much did it weigh dry? -Luke

I thought quartz was up around 3? However, I will say I don't think it's tourmaline. I was weighing with carat should I be using grams? Weighs 6.15 carats.

Quartz is right around 2.65. However, on a specimen this small; any variance is too much variance. I've never done it with carat weight, but it must be working.
