Hey y'all! Just when I thought the good ol' smoky pocket couldn't get any better, these monster clusters popped out! The pocket (wall) cluster of smoky quartz in the first 3 pics weighs 17lbs and the giant point cluster weighs right around 20lbs. I was in absolute shock when I saw these guys pop out of the dirt! Hope y'all enjoy checking them out as much as I enjoyed finding them!

I LOVE Quartz crystals... Any color... Any size... Quartz is indeed the most common element in the earth's crust... But who doesnt like the crystals!! Spectacular!!!

Not saying that there might not be a cave nearby, but it would have nothing to do with the quartz. These would have been formed in a "vug" which is a cavity that formed in the magma and filled with water, thus forming the crystals as it cooled. I would have come from a granite pegmatite. Most caves are formed in limestone, a completely different kind of rock.
