I got this at the rock and fossil show Sunday. I saw this on the table and picked it up and asked the old man how did they get the arrow though the hole? He said I've been wondering that for years now. If you can tell me I'll give it to you. I guessed that they soaked it in water. Then somehow pushed it through the hole. Most wood is bendable around 200 degrees F and it can be shaped at even lower temps if it is green or saturated. This principle has been used for centuries in basket boat and skicraft throughout the world.
