Out metal detecting today and this came out of a hole along old path and next to old tiny cellar hole here in central Massachusetts.No idea what it is other than googling a few times and came up with black agate though no reference to it being found in my state,so hopin the pros will give me some knowledge.

Impossible to say, since its so rounded and worn. Could also be basalt, for example.

Thanks for reply,not sure basalt though...not a rock person so googled basalt and read that its volcanic,dont believe any of that activity in Massachusetts.



Impossible to say, since its so rounded and worn. Could also be basalt, for example.
