Labradorite Slab

I purchased this slab of labradorite a while ago from a gift shop with the intention of carving it into something eventually. Only one side is polished, just as it was when I got it. I thought I would share a few pics as it is pretty nice as it is.

Thanks guys I am glad you like it. Labradorite is one of my favorites, though I only have one other piece (a sphere I bought in Arizona). It is a little softer than the quartz/agate that I normally work with so I thought it would be good material to use if I get around to trying to make something more complex. Hard to say if I will risk this piece for that, but something in me wants to make it in to a small lizard.

Awesome piece! I have some of the same material, got it from a rock shop in Utah. Not sure where it comes from but it is really cool stuff!

My understanding is that most labradorite comes from Canada.

These days most labradorite comes from madagaskar.
