Any idea what this lime green stone is?

I live in Maryland and while raking leaves in my yard I came across this buried halfway in the ground. From the odd shape and cut its definitely not glass and there is no transparency. It's a light shade of lime green in color. Any idea of what it is?

Slag glass typically has "bubbles" in it. However there are exceptions and then it gets tricky.
"Common" opal could be a candidate, to.

Was a hardness test made?
