Hey y'all!

It's been a good while since I've posted on the forum so I thought that I would share a few of my finds from today at an abandoned mica mine in Western NC. This mine was apparently in operation in the early 1900's. Along with piles of mica, the tailings around the mine were full of gemmy microcline! Some of the best I've seen from the area! I also managed to snag a couple sweet shorl tourmaline specimens. There is definitely potential for finding some complete shorl crystals in matrix at the site so I'm hoping to return sometime in the next couple of days. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Welcome back hunter, definitely worth a look. Mica's in NC are tied pretty closely with many other gemmy minerals. :)
