Rocks I would like help to identify

Hi all i found these today in a dried up creek bed in Iowa. The first one is heavy and almost looks like lava multiple colors. Second one same creek bed strange shape pretty light. Any help would be appreciated. I know they are probably nothing special.

The second looks like Limestone or some carbonate. The first is kind of unusual. Perhaps silica? Jasper? Maybe try a hardness test on that one.

Hardness test is a good idea! My initial thought was 'ironstone' on #1.
