Screenshot_20171108-221030.png found this beauty while hiking in Colorado, waa walking by a stream and it caught my eye because it was transparent on one side. Anyone know what it is? My guess is clear quartz

I'm with you on the Quartz, Medicine stone? One thing for sure is I Like it, A Lot. Maybe an Artifact expert will know, the stone looks worked by Human hands.

I've been told that possibly someone polished the stone on the smooth side of this rock. It's real smooth to the touch

Definitely an artifact, does look like quartz, but if it is soft, it may be steatite, also known as soap stone, try streaking it ,will be soft and chalky

Listen to Loco, First Nations used steatite for a wide variety of medicinal and ceremonial reasons. If it's not soft, then it's definitely silica based.
