What is this 17.4 rock?

All I can say at the moment is that it appears to be a compacted mass of crystals. Hardness test, streak test if applicable, specific gravity test and maybe knock a fresh chunk off. Where was it found?

There are many types of rock that are similar in appearance to that you have posted. If you believe it has value, have a portion assayed. Alternatively, many geologists could identify it with the aid of a loupe and a few different acids.

Time for more coffee.
