For years I've wondered what these rocks were in this old outdoor fireplace. I've never seen any like them along this shoreline so I assume they were gathered somewhere else to build this. There was also an old large wall built with these in it but most of that has crumbled away. 20181102_160158.jpeg 20181102_160131.jpeg 20181102_160109.jpeg 20181102_160100.jpeg 20181102_160054.jpeg

Someone's rock collection. Lots of mineral collectors do this. A lot of it looks like mixed jaspers.

It's unique for sure. There are a lot of different types of rocks, some agates, and even the occasional gemstones found along these lake shores because of the glacial drop but I haven't seen anything like that anywhere.

Lovely and artistic fireplace. Hope it doesn't get destroyed for the rocks. I missed out getting to view an indoor fireplace made with Silver, Nickel and Cobalt rocks. The original home owner was a mine owner. There was a house tour last year that I missed by a few days.

Someday it will probably be destroyed to redo the landscaping. It's a very steep bank and some of the wall that extends to the left of the fireplace had crumbled away and was removed this summer. I should have took some of the rocks that fell out this spring but I didn't.

The banded pieces definitely look like wonderstone I've collected in the West, Central desert of Utah
