Tourmaline? Rubellite? Other?

Hello I just found a box of a bunch minerals and stones and have no clue what most of them are! They could be real or pieces of colored plastic, I do not know. Here is one, I have MANY others.
Red with a few specks of black, and the second photo shows a purple/gray color on the other side

Streak test, hardness test and most importantly an SG test will be necessary to even take a stab at it. I can think of about five different things it could be but without any testing it's just a stab in the (dark?) :D

It is not fairly heavy for it's size. I just found a box of a bunch of rocks when I was cleaning my basement. I have no idea where it came from before. I have no experience with this stuff.
