Is this rose or red quartz?

Found this in a creek bed.

Looks like rose quartz before the creek motion weathered the stone. Nice find!

I do see rose quartz, BUT, the red staining could be iron, or some kind of inclusion, probably of iron origin, possibly hemetite. Just a guess though.
