Green Quartz? Anyone know what this is?

I found this on a hike in far West Colorado around 8,000 ft elevation. I've hiked these mountains for years and never found a rock like this.

Just wondering if anyone might know what it is.

Thanks Gary!

I am new here - this forum is awesome! I've been collecting rocks since I could hold one.

It's heavy and the size of a baseball. Apreciate any info anyone can share!

Actually, it's Rocky Mtn. petrified potato; definitely very rare in most places.

I can't rule out jade but I'm seeing Chalcedony-Agate. I think the mohs of these is 6.5 so its quite hard and will fracture with a 'seashell-esque' pattern.
