What kind of stone/mineral is this? I'm an amateur.

I found these on Lake Michigan in Petosky MIchigan. I am wondering what they are, it appears they are the same type.

I moved ya from TODAY'S FINDS! over to ROCKS/GEMS for more exposure.

They appear to be water worn bits of quartz, chalcedony mainly with the larger one transitioning into what I'll call sugar quartz~ basically compacted grains of very small quartz crystals. The dark matter looks like some organic, a bleach bath might clear it out.
