Found this in farmington lake (New Mexico)this summer in the water. Was covered 75% in this shell. Since then it has broken away, its very fragile. No other rock like it at all near by. Its very orangy and heavy.thankyou for your help!! 20191022_185629.jpg 20191022_185514.jpg 20191022_185446.jpg

:hello: Welcome to tnet! Pretty specimen.

Your item looks like what is left of a geode with the mineralized interior still somewhat intact. You can still see the small crystaline interior walls that are breaking off. Not sure as to the type of mineral, but you might want to research what types of minerals are found in your area. Also, someone here from your area might help.
