Indian Artifact or Paper Weight

My grandson found this unique item in a Kentucky creek and we are trying to determine authenticity. The notches at the end seem fairly defined and man-made. After reading some other articles I'd say we've ruled out a stone moccasins last but who knows. Do you think this could have been a tool? Any ideas guys? Thanks for any comments.

Paper weight and no value to most who see it I'm afraid but rockhounding with your grandson and I'm betting he had an ear to ear smile when he found it, then spending time together learning about Indian artifacts together because of that stone, makes that stone right there priceless...
Atleast that's how I feel when my son comes to me with a rock he thinks is really cool or special, they are always my favorite rocks:icon_thumleft:
