More surface agate rain freebies

I thought agate was smooth, solid, and had banding. Is this another type of agate I'm not familiar with? Those AZ rocks...every time something wild and different. Gary

They are botryoidal fire agates/chalcedony with druzy quartz crystals, I know they are really odd looking and that's why I like that spot, most rough fire agates are unattractive but this spot has amazing looking specimens, I'd argue world class for specimens, like slaughter mountain is world class for lapidary, they have fire but when I find them like these I just leave them alone, it would be very difficult to cut these, 2nd picture specimen wouldn't be to hard to cut I guess, the Schiller effects are in layers just below that solid red layer.

I'm not sure if I would call these agates or fire agates, looks more like quartz with some iron stained botryoidal Chalcedony with no banding (seam agate) nor play of colors( fire). Cool finds none the less but I think agate has a clear definition and I'm not seeing it in these. Maybe though like you said "rough fire agate" needs to be worked to bring out the typically seen play of colors.

Are these all of the same rock from your first original post? these are are easy to see, the ones in your first post however show no signs of being agate.
Steve, no offense was meant (seems like you may have been offended) just pointing out what is observed.
