Here's some of my favs...feel free to ID them.

I found all of these in various creeks in Missouri, so here, for your viewing enjoyment...

Found this one in a creek in Columbia Missouri...

This one makes all the girl detectors go wild...iron ore maybe?

Heard an old wives tale from an old wife that this is a mineral called oaker. She told me that Native Americans ground it up on a stone, mixed it with bear fat and put it on themselves to protect their skin...anyway...

Saw just the top of this one sticking out of a creek in northern Mo...

This is one of my favs. I found a spherical rock in the mud and decided I would break it open...here's what I found!

Thanks for lookin'!

1. Probably quartz crystal
2. Looks like magnetite or Hematite.
3. I can't find no 'oaker' nor any 'ochre' ???
4. Geode indeed (quartz or agate I think)

Tom, I wonder if the crystal was brought up from Arkansas. as far as I know we don't have rock crstal of that size in MO. but with it being in ARK, who knows. the one with lots of little crystals is druzy quartz, we have lots of it here, but it's so pretty I must have a ton that I have brought home. did you find the ochre in MO? nice pieces.
