An amazing look at a couple amateur archeologists equipped with at least one Minelab Explorer II and the site of the Russian Army's defense of Kiev during World War II:

This is an amazing look at both the history and the incredible finds, which include everything from old guns and unexploded mortars to skeletons with their helmets still in place.

I think that what she & Nahabit are doing is wonderful. They are uncovering history that the current generation only reads about. It adds a different perspective when you can actually see artifacts from wars past unearthed. I just hope that the soldiers that are found are given proper military funerals for their gallant efforts and their sacrifices.

Reading her story page by page gave me the impression that a huge amount of those folks that died and she's seeing evidence of will be left undisturbed and forgotten :( it's strange to me to see thier ideology of selecting heros and villans and building that storyline as all inclusive of that persons life. I hope she's able to bring awareness to her countrymen that the participants in that horrid war all deserve recognition for thier hardships and suffering that another country delivered to thier doorsteps. koodo's to her and her adventures!

Looks to me as another example of responsible metal detecting being used to preserve and document history. Chalk another one up for the good guys.

Elena is great!!! I like the way she tells the story with humor and without hate for the participants. The Chernobyl story is a must read.
