$266.00
Old junk cars setting around? I just took an old Toyota to the yard. $266.00.
Wish I could do that every day.

Did you have to remove/drain anything to get them to buy it?

I had to remove the fuel tank. That was it.

Great going friend!
I got a neighbor, down the steet a ways, who lets old cars sit around in her yard, till the city gives her a fine/violation notice, then she pays to have someone remove them for her? I been watching this for 15 years. She's kinda elderly, I don't know WHO, keeps dragging these cars to her lot, maybe one of her kids?
I may knock on her door and ask whats she gonna do with the one still sitting there now! LOL! (she may wanna pay me less, to drag it off! LOL!)

Yesterday is history, tomorow a mystery. All we have is the here and now, it's a special gift. That's why we call it "The Present"

Please tell me that you at least cut the cat converter off of it before you junked it. They can be worth a small fortune!

I know about cat converters. I was just saying that the fuel tank is the only thing I was required to take off.

Re: $266.00
Hello I live in Minnesota and they require you to have title if you bring in a car. Was wonderinf if they required you to have a title also? Bunch of old junk cars sitting around every where out in the country and I will ask if I can have them and 99% of the time they have no title for it.

I had the title in hand, but they said they didn't have to see it. I've heard some around here had to show a title, so I guess it's different at every yard.
They did make a copy of my DL.

Re: $266.00
In CA you can call someone like Pull A Part or Pick a Part and they will tell you how much they will pay, including pick up. A friend sold an old Chevy for $350.00 last month.
They will pay less if the cat is off or if it is missing parts. It depends on the year. model and condition. you need the title

Re: $266.00
If you are junking a post 1975 car, remember that the catalytic converters contain platinum. I've never junked a car, but if I did I would hack that part off first.

Re: $266.00
Mine was a small Toyota. I think I got a good price out of it.
I use to have a '71 Buick Electra...heavy as an army tank. Man, I would like to scrap one of those.
