    RIVERSIDE — Water agency officials hope that rewards offered Friday will flush out whoever stole more than 60 fire hydrants, manhole covers and other pieces of utility equipment throughout Riverside County.

    I can't understand how they can
    take a load of Covers & or Hydrants
    to a Scrap yard & Not have someone see them
    & ask Hey , Do you work for
    Public Works ?

    It's not like they can melt these things down.

    or even smash them enough to be unidentifiable

    one in each load of iron isn't even worth 2 Cents

    The average criminal isn't too bright. I would venture to say the average petty thief is an even dimmer bulb.

    Riverside county is just a few miles from where I work, half my customers come from there. Funny thing is the thefts never made big news out here. I had to do a google to see what happened. All TV stations are in L.A. county so most news is from there. I live in Orange county and we only get some coverage unless it is something huge. I guess Riverside county rates even less than the OC
