    Price of lead

I cast bullets and was told I can have all the lead at a local scrap yard at $0.65 lb, mostly soft flashing. Is this a fair price? So far I've been getting wheel weights from tire shops but these are getting scarce and I started looking at other options.
How much are you getting for your lead?

    Re: Price of lead

I only got .20 a pound for it, but that was last year. I am sure the prices are higher now. Price in the 60's seems like alot though. See if you can do a trade with them, scrap your alum cans or other metals and get paid in lead!

    Re: Price of lead

That's how I found that they sell lead - I dug out a bunch of bullets from the berm at the range and I had about 30lbs of jackets left after melting the lead out. Somebody mentioned that they may be worth something and when I took them to the scrap yard the traded them for 65lbs of lead.
Now, if there is somebody in Central Florida that has scrap lead for sale, let me know, I can probably pay more than the scrap yard.
