    e scrap boards

I have a bunch of boards from what I was told came from and old linotypye machine, these boards are full of what appear to be gold fingers not the kind that are on pc cards but the kind that are sticking up and sharp pointed. Are these also gold plated and would they be worth the time pulling off.

What you have there is what is called a "pin board". This one happens to be a back plane. Do you have any of the cards that plugged into the slots? No, don't waste your time trying to pull the pins. Sell it on E-Bay. The pins are gold plated and the wire is silver plated. These are good boards. To the right guy, $60-70.00 a pound is not out of the question.

Tell you what, post a pic of all of them, and get me a total weight, and I can see if my buyer would want them.

When you said old linotype machine I thought of something completly different the old machines we had didn't have any electronics just a heavy duty motor, an electric heater to melt the lead and 100,000 gears and levers.

    Here is a real linotype.
