Took my second trip back to the local gun show here. Saturday met a couple of guys promoting their club. It's the 50 cal club At present they have 25 members That meet every month (Weather permitting) to shoot competitively with prize's awarded for best of three shots. I for one see no difference with this and skeet shooting. It's a hobby as I see it. At 7 to 8 $$ per round it's a expensive one. I looked at a new 50 at 4k which I thought was not bad considering a good double over and under is about the same price.

My Question to the anti gun people what is the difference in these two hobbies. Besides distance to the target.

By the way there is a 2 year waiting list to get one.

No one is going to bite your line friend. I'm not aware of too many people on this forum that are anti gun.

onfire.....see what they are asking for bricks of 22LR at the show. I went to a show last week and they were asking $75-$85 for a box of 550 count. What part of the country are you in?

I can still get 22shorts pretty reasonable so I'm thinking about getting a 22-single shot capable of firing 22 shorts. It would make "plinking" cheaper and still be a viable round for close-in game gathering.

That's crazy for.22lr rounds. A couple 600 rd plus boxes of hollow points in stash were under 20 bucks. Lucky buying them on sale year after year till now.
Picked up a brick of solids and some boxes of target rounds quite reasonable last summer at a barn sale too. This keeps up they will be selling 20 round boxes like center fire high power.

We paid less than $100 each for all of our SKS's. $400 is crazy! I did buy 800 rounds of 22 shorts yesterday. Now I have to get a gun that can fire them. My son has a little "Chipmunk" 22 rifle that can fire them but I want a longer barrel. Yeah relevent, I still have about 9,000 rounds of 22LR so I'm ok for a while. Just don't want to "plink" with what is now, "pricey" ammo.

Picked up a stevens model 15a few years ago for an ultra lite squirrel rifle. Fixed a couple cracks and refinished it. Added a sling. For a single shot its not to bad. Price did not hurt either.

I'm thinking when everyone gets what they want the prices will come down. They are gouging now because they can.

Try to find 45 long colts (Not cowboy loads) If you have them, name your price. 7.62X39 same thing doubled in price here. most had sold out signs on tables. Guess deer hunting should be a hoot this year:laughing7:
