Just wondering if anyone has had this problem.when I'm using my at gold it will make a high pitched noise then seem to lock up for a few seconds.then work and may do it again right after.always seem to work again although sometimes I will get a hit and the numbers will disappear for a second or freeze until I lift it up off the ground for a second.is it a good idea to send it in sometimes and get it refreshed sometime

I have had and used my AT Gold for several years and have not experienced this type of thing unless coil was directly over a large piece of metal on or near the surface. Is your machine under warranty? I recommend calling Garrett.....
