AT-Pro randomly beeps out loud even with headphones on

Lately my detector has been beeping out loud sporadically (I always keep headphones on).

Is this a common problem? Any tips for fixing? Warranty claim tips?

When you plug in the headphones into the machine, it electronically senses the headphones being attached and disables the speaker. Guessing a loose or dirty coupling in this area. When the connection is broken, it turns on the outside speaker.

Try some contact cleaner on the pin connection.

Mt ATPro has been doing the same thing for a while. I have taken the connector apart a couple of times, it is spotless. I guess I'll have to call Garrett and see what they say, but my warranty is gone and I'm not too keen on sending it in.

i bought mine from kellyco used sent it in after warranty expired no charge for new coil hesdphones and circuitboard
