    All Types Of Treasure Hunting

This day in history - 1715

It was 290 years ago today that two combined Spanish fleets, heavily laden with vast amounts of the kings treasure were sailing from Cuba back to Spain. They were traveling north along the eastern shores of Florida. What they did not know at the time was that the fate of the ships had been decided as a fierce hurricane was quickly approaching. By the early morning of 31 July, 1715 nearly the entire fleet was destroyed, or so badly damaged that they could sail no further. The beaches of Florida were littered with corpses and wreckage from the disaster as survivors began the long struggle for survival.
Five of the eleven ships lost that day are still missing, and there treasures still remain lost someplace on the bottom of the sea floor.
Recent reports from the known wreck sites are that plenty of booty continues to be recovered, and that the last two weeks have been extremely productive.
