Well, I greeted Pawel politely, in Polish, and asked him how he explained the accusations that he had altered documented supplied to TN members, and within minutes my post had been deleted by the moderator. It wasn't an accusation, it was a question, but the moderator then modified his previous posting to say that no accusations would be allowed.

So does Pawel not get the opportunity to explain himself? Is he allowed to post whatever information he wants and not have to answer any questions? Interesting approach on the part of the moderator. I guess this is to going to remain a very short thread.

Hey Pawel. Thanks for posting all of those files on here... I'm sure it took you alot of time to produce them for us.
If you are the same Pawel Nowak who e-mailed me though, I would like to ask you to please not send me any unsolicited e-mails in the future, unless I know you personally, and give you permission to do so. I appreciate it.

Pawel, Please do not send me any e-mails about you and your research. A few years ago I personally sent you around $600 for information from the archives in Seville about a certain wreck that you claimed to have information on. What you sent me had nothing to do with what I paid for and it was also useless information.
Fool me once, shame on me. You won't get a second chance.

Pawel,

Then how do you explain these copies that you sent me in my search for a wreck. You forged these documents by writing in the name of the vessel I was looking for to make me think you have actual archival documents relating to the wreck. Thank god I was not stupid enough to send you any money. If it were not for the guys here at TNet who spotted the fakes, I probably would have fallen for it.

I will not play this game. You have scammed too many people to even try to say you are an honest, legitimate researcher! It infuriates me that you even have the gaul to post here.

Same goes for me, I haven't been around this industry long enough to see through the scams. I sent mad4wrecks to see if he knew this guy. He did! Thanks to him and you all on here I didn't make a costly mistake.

good morning: First group of documents are a bit hard to read, but the others are fairly easy. Especially the last one asking for clemency for the Altimirante who has unjustly been jailed for 4 years.

Well Pawel,

You chose to post on the forum, knowing the past dealings you had had with Robert and old man, perhaps others.

If you don't answer the allegations (and I don't know if you can) then we will all draw our own conclusions about your business practices, if we haven't already done so. Let's hear from you.

Perhaps the TreasureNet Forum participants who have concluded satisfactory transactions with this gentleman would like to post information on their positive experiences.

Good luck to all,

I am the type person who likes to believe that everyone is good and not everyone is out to screw you. Things happen and sometimes there are circumstances when things get shipped wrong or delayed or even lost. It happens!

But when it happens this often, there is definitely something wrong. I don't know Pawel personally, other than emails that we sent back and forth, and have had no other dealings with him since, but things just seem to go wrong too often with him. And when the document I recieved had been forged, that was the last straw for me!

If you do a search on the web for "Pawel Nowak Scam" , you will come up with numerous websites with accounts of him scamming others. Everything from Shipwreck Research to swords and Nazi memorabilia. I am sure the list goes on.

This is not a global conspiracy against this person! This is a repeated occurence!

So, whatever you choose to believe, I warn anyone who has any dealings with Pawel Nowak!

Any researcher can request in the archives a document call "certificate of attendance or consultation" of its investigations (with all the documents that the researcher has consulted in a certain period of time) and the given material that it was photocopied. If the researcher wants, the archives send photocopies of compared documents (legalized).
This is a good way to demonstrate that the researcher was present in certain archives with the day, month, year and the hour that it consulted certain documents and he requested certain photocopies of these documents. The reseacher can also specify the matter of the investigation.
