AU_Dreamers, If I recall correctly from memory ( as all the old house land marks are gone ) the old original CG station was about 1 mile south of the north inlet. ( There is a plaque down to bedrock on the beach at that location that we found after the storm of the century ). Directly offshore from that plaque is an old wreck.

Sounds like you are going to the same island. Talk to some of the locals most of them will talk about the coins found out there, but like most of us, won't tell you where to find them. However, if you get lucky like I did, one lady told us about the gold coin she found. Good Luck.

oh I'm not going there anytime soon...

We went there in the early 90's.

One thing for sure, those barrier islands in the mid atlantic change constantly.

I just found the post interesting and up until I had read which site it was I kept saying it's got to be...

I guess we read the same books, lol but then again don't all us treasure addicts!
