    Schooner Northwestern

As you may or may not know, there's a ton of shipwrecks in the great lakes. I just finished reading a book about one about the schooner Northwestern which sank near Presque Isle sometime in 1850. The shipwreck was forgotten until the court case after the accident was found in the US Supreme court records recently. Also, the ship that sank the Northwestern, the Monticello, went on to further misadventures in Lake Superior.

After the book was published, divers happened by the wreckage and took some amazing movies of it. I got a chance to see it recently.

Anyway, if you're interested in the book, you can get it here: http://www.realpublications.com/index.php?fetchpage=pub

Has anyone checked out the shipwrecks in the great lakes? In particular, around Presque Isle or Alpena, Michigan?

    Thanks.
