Question:

After viewing your underwater boulders etc I am remembering at least five places along the shoreline where my MD went crazy under huge 5 feet square or larger coquina slabs...is it possible there could be good stuff under the rocks? I never thought about using my discriminator but maybe I should..

Then I might need a crow bar etc.

Are you sure those rocks at Jupiter weren't strategically placed there ?

That is too cool Capt Dom! I noticed I had my 2 seconds of fame on the Fox clip. :headbang: Looks like you guys have been making some serious holes! Give me a holler and we'll see if we can't work somethin out so I can get back out there with you again.

We were going to splash again today
but the wind came up and it is almost breaking across the inlet...

Thank God for the Jupiter Inlet Cam!
It helps us save a lot of mob and de-mob time...

Hopefully it will lay down a bit before the weekend and
all the traffic it can bring...

If someone took a back hole and dug down in the middle of the beach..what are the odds they'd hit shipwreck debris and or treasure?

If you dig deep enough you might possibly hit an old Chinese Junk.

I'm thinking, the odds are you would be arrested before you could dig one bucket full with the backhoe. :tongue3:

A couple of folks already tried this!

They sold a bill of goods to some PBC county
officials about "treasure" being just to the south
of us near Carlin Park..... :smileinbox:

They even got the county to use their backhoes... :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:
When they hit the high water mark and the hole started to fill in and the
media showed up and the state started to complain.....
well, the excrement started to hit the fan...... :violent1: :BangHead: :violent1: :BangHead:

and, all the cronies scurried for cover....

and so goes another unrecorded historic moment in time..... ???

Cut me in for 1/2 of the treasure and I'll give you some good spots ;D

I for one....
am going to wait for God
or the Devil to make the spoil bank
now called Jupiter Beach Park to wash away

rather than attempt to dig holes in the park that
all the illegal aliens that now frequent the beach on the weekends
may perhaps fall into.... :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

I am certain the local govt has hired the illegals and they are the ones digging the holes...

Oh, I've been dreaming of digging up that site, especially since your permit is only to the low tide line :icon_pirat:

I can just see us all down there racing against each other with shovels, backhoes and the like ;D

How heavy are those stones? Have you ever considered using air-lift bags and a harness to move them around?

Re: Different Kind of "Treasure" at the Jupiter Shipwreck Site!

The problem with air bags is
when you dig a deep enough hole
using just mail boxes - the rim of the hole in a static depth
of 11 to 14 feet can get to about five or six feet at mean low water.

Rigging the lift bags with a heavy boulder - say the size of a picnic table
and about 14 to 17 inches thick - - {Heavy enough so you aren't going to just
roll it over} can present a problem with cable length, when the bag breaks the
surface.

That is why I want to use a dredge - to transport overburden down stream
so the rocks can be floated out of the hole.....

Short of having a drag line and a barge.

One of the ones I wanted just sold today at auction for $135,000.00
so I guess they are not cheap any more....
