Wes Skiles dies diving off Boynton Beach, FL.
Very sad news. This guy was an accomplished diver, caver, underwater explorer and photographer.

Want to treasure dive in gin clear waters at Jupiter!
Re: Wes Skiles dies diving off Boynton Beach, FL.
Wes and I first met at Bob & Bea Snyder's home
in the Jupiter Inlet Colony when Bob
first chartered the Jupiter Chapter of the Explorer's Club
of New York.
I think Wes and I were Bob's first members. Wes cast a
long shadow in the world of undersea cinema photography.
Like all true artists his spirit will live on in his many unique works...
With all the dangerous places Wes had ventured....
with all the experience in technical cave diving he possessed...
all it took was a simple reef dive to take him...
The envelop for all of us is very thin...
See you later Wes...
Since 1987 our Jupiter Wreck has continued to yield coins but the question, "Where's the rest of the Ship?" has remained unanswered... There are 2 layers of shipwreck scatter and we are equipping the "Enterprise" to excavate the primary treasure layer. Join with us this year!

Det vi vet er så uendelig lite mot det som har hendt. Arkeologen er som den som går langs en strand og finner småtterier, skyllet i land fra et forsvunnet skib. Men selve skibet som gikk i dypet med menneskene får han aldri se.

Sad to hear his life end so soon. He at least died doing what he loved most. I first met Wes through Keith Mattson when I was involved in caving. I would always stop in when he was around whenever I visited Ginnie Springs. A true pioneer in the diving industry. Rest easy, Wes.

How very very sad.. I will keep he and his family in my prayers.
Live your life in such a way, that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, satan shudders and says, OH CHIT, SHE'S AWAKE.
