    great source of information

I have found the following website to be a great source of marine archaeology and shipwreck information:

    http://nautarch.tamu.edu/pdf-files/

It is a listing (.pdf files) of thesis papers written by Texas A&M students.

You have to wade through a lot of files (unfortunately the file name doesn't identify the topic of the paper), most of it pretty dry stuff, but there are some good nuggets in there!

Be sure to look at the table of contents of each paper. For example, on this file about flintlock pistols (http://nautarch.tamu.edu/pdf-files/G...-MA%201991.pdf) there is also a chapter about the history of the Spanish Fleet system.

I have found great information about Chinese porcelain, cannon identification, anchor identification, shipwreck locations, ceramic, glassware and silverware identification etc...

    Happy researching! Tom
