Pictures Of Treasure Coast Beaches Without Sand During a Hurricane

I know that everyone is waiting for the big one to move all the sand off the beaches for about 8 hours to see just hardpan and that slime containing all of the 1715 fleet coins and cobs.

Does anyone have any pics of the beaches without sand during a hurricane?

Here are a few just south of Jupiter Inlet...

And, this was not a hurricane!

It was just a sub tropical storm in 2007!

Since 1987 our Jupiter Wreck has continued to yield coins but the question, "Where's the rest of the Ship?" has remained unanswered...  There are 2 layers of shipwreck scatter and we are equipping the "Enterprise" to excavate the primary treasure layer.  Join with us this year!

Here's some taken by NOAA from various locations along the Treasure Coast. The area from Vero North was cut down to the black clay. Points south of Vero seemed to have sand shipped onto the beach rather than away from the beach.

Quick question for the guys who understand this stuff...

After every big storm, the renouishment sand is wiped out in my hometown of St. Augustine Beach and winds up with 'cliffs' like the ones Dom posted.

Is there any sure-fire way to know when you're getting down to the 'old stuff' as opposed to the stuff they pumped in? I don't know anything about the geology here.

Look for the black clay. You can see it in some of the pictures I posted. When you see the black clay, you start finding just about everything, including fossils.

Around wabasso if you dig down 10-15 feet you will hit the area where all the 1715 goodies are.Maybe another 10 feet or so you might hit the hardpan.
Millions of dollars of Spanish treasure await those who would dare brave the eye of the hurricane.

Yup, it's a dynamic process, for sure.

One thing to keep in mind is that it's always been like this, hurricane to hurricane.
