    Shipwreck in a Bottle

Mother Nature has casued me to cancell the past few trips. During my time at dock I decided to make a ship in a bottle replica of the RC Mohawk for my friend Capt. Ed Slater. Here are a few photos of the project.

That is so cool. I just wish I had the talent and patience to do it.

I've seen the kits for this hobby, but to do it from scratch is a true talent.

Its not as hard as it looks. Only takes about 10 hours. Here is one more photo.

Attached link is for a how to guide which shows how to easily build them.

I think you underestimate your talents, sir. That's really, really neat.

    Good morning Wreckvalle
Could you look at my link below and tell me what you think about my old ship in the bottle. I know how they do the ship, but how did the guy do the background with all the buildings, landscape and other objects? How much time do you think was involved from start to finish of this bottle? Thank you for any information in advance. I still have not learned any additional information from my research.

Its a little hard to see the background detail from your photos. I have put little islands and a lighthouse in a bottle but yours looks like an entire background. I have only seen a few of these. Most of the backgrounds are made out of putty and then painted before inserting the ship. Details like houses and the lighthouse are added.

Wish I could see a better photo, then I could tell you exactly how it was done.
